Sporting Cristal and Universitario de Deportes are set to clash in the final of the Reserves Promotion Tournament, after impressive performances throughout the season and playoffs. The matches will be played in a two-leg format, with the first leg taking place at Campo Mar U, where the 'cremas' will host the 'celestes' on Friday, November 17th at 10:30 a.m. The second and decisive final will be held at Cristal's La Florida ground on Thursday, November 23rd, at the same time.
Sporting Cristal, led by Uruguayan coach Jorge Cazulo, reached this stage after defeating César Vallejo in the semifinals with an aggregate score of 2-1. Meanwhile, Universitario de Deportes, under the command of Jorge Araujo, eliminated FBC Melgar with a 4-1 scoreline.
Although this competition no longer awards points to their first team, it does offer a spot in the Under-20 Copa Libertadores. It is yet to be determined whether a limited number of fans will be allowed to attend both venues.
