Morelia, Michoacán.- In a moving initiative that unites the community in a gesture of solidarity, the association Convihve A.C. has launched its annual campaign for collecting toys and clothes to celebrate the Day of Kings, focusing on benefiting children living with HIV or coming from families affected by the virus. This activity, which will take place until January 4, aims not only to provide moments of joy for the little ones but also to convey a message of hope and support on their difficult journey. Convihve A.C., with a legacy of 25 years of supporting people living with HIV, has developed a shelter in Morelia that serves as a temporary refuge for families arriving from different municipalities in the state seeking medical care. This space not only offers accommodation but also transforms into an environment that fosters solidarity and mutual support, which is vital for those facing not only the stigma associated with the disease but also health challenges. Juan Bosco Valle, president of the organization, has called on the community to join this altruistic cause. "A small detail can create great joy and convey that there are always reasons to smile," Valle commented while inviting citizens to donate new or gently used toys in good condition. He also emphasized the importance of prioritizing the needs of the shelter, although other children will also receive donations if they exceed expectations. The collection campaign, which has been held for six years, has garnered notable support from society, reflecting compassion and community commitment. In 2024, donations will not only be distributed in January but also additional deliveries have been scheduled for March, allowing joy to reach more families in vulnerable situations and fostering hope that this spirit of solidarity will remain alive throughout the year. Some guidelines have been established for donations, such as the recommendation that toys should not use batteries and that any type of weaponry or war toys should be avoided. Additionally, special attention is requested when donating clothing, prioritizing the needs of infants, who are part of this beneficiary group. Donations can be dropped off at the Convihve A.C. facilities located at Manuela Medina #567, in the Jacarandas neighborhood, from today until January 4, between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Those who wish to obtain more information or need assistance in making their donations can contact the phone number 443 240 3562. The work of Convihve goes beyond collecting toys; it is about building a bridge between those who can help and those who need it most. This year's campaign is an opportunity for the community to come together in a collective effort, reminding us that every action counts and that empathy can illuminate even the darkest moments. The importance of initiatives like this lies in addressing not only material needs but also contributing to breaking down stigmas and offering a message of acceptance and love. In a world where the most vulnerable are often forgotten, the toy collection campaign by Convihve A.C. stands as a beacon of hope in the fight for the dignity and well-being of those facing HIV. The invitation is made: every toy, every piece of clothing, every gesture counts. The community has the opportunity to be part of a significant change in the lives of 18 children who, despite their circumstances, deserve to experience moments of happiness. In this season of giving and sharing, each person's commitment can make a difference.
