In our weekly round-up of death notices and funeral announcements, we honor the lives of those who have recently passed away in our community. The tradition of announcing obituaries in local newspapers serves as a comforting reminder that our loved ones are remembered and celebrated even after they are gone. This week, we pay tribute to a number of individuals who touched the lives of many. Cyril Tilmouth Atkinson, aged 94, will be remembered for his loving nature. His funeral service is set for December 30th at Cowpen Crematorium, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life. Elizabeth "Betty" Barker, who passed away at the age of 94 after a short illness, leaves behind a loving family. Her funeral will take place on January 3rd, where donations will be collected for NVS Cramlington in her memory. Nora Bell, remembered as an amazing mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 74. Her funeral is scheduled for December 23rd at St Cuthbert's Church, followed by a cremation at Cowpen Crematorium. Ann Bell, at 89 years old, is deeply missed by her family, including her daughter Terri and grandson David. Her service will occur on the same day as Nora's, at Saltwell Crematorium. The community also mourns the loss of Michael "Mick" Brodie, aged 96, who will be laid to rest at Northumberland Crematorium on December 20th. His family, including his children and grandchildren, remember him fondly. Gary Burlinson, aged 54, passed away suddenly; his funeral is on January 6th. Many friends and family are expected to attend as they gather to celebrate his life at Sunderland Crematorium. Jennifer Callighan, another cherished member of our community, will be remembered at her funeral service on December 30th at Saltwell Crematorium. Friends will gather to honor her life and legacy. The heartwarming tributes continue with Stanley Marr Calvert, aged 92, and Olwen Carrick, aged 87, both of whom touched many lives and will be celebrated in their respective services in the upcoming days. As we reflect on the memories of these individuals, we also acknowledge the importance of community support during these difficult times. Every notice published provides a permanent online tribute, allowing friends and family to share memories, photographs, and make donations in memory of their loved ones. If you wish to create a notice for a loved one or share your tributes, you can visit funeral-notices.co.uk or contact our team directly. Our thoughts are with all families and friends grieving the loss of their loved ones.
