Indiscriminate attacks continue to claim lives in the Gaza Strip, where at least 81 Palestinians died and another 198 were injured in the last day, as reported by the Ministry of Health of the enclave controlled by Hamas. These tragic events bring the total death toll to 38,394 since the beginning of the war, a figure that includes mainly women and children, not counting the thousands of bodies trapped under the rubble, inaccessible to emergency teams. Amidst this devastating scenario, Gaza's civil defense authorities denounced a drone attack carried out by Israel near the El Cairo School in the Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City, where 11 people lost their lives. Meanwhile, the Israeli army has intensified its airstrikes in the western areas of the Gaza capital, ordering the total evacuation of these areas and forcing thousands of Palestinians to move to areas considered safer in the center of the Strip. However, not even in these supposedly safe zones are inhabitants safe from Israeli airstrikes. In the western Nuseirat refugee camp, an elderly man lost his life when a projectile hit his home, while in a previous attack on a UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) school in the same camp, at least 17 people were killed. Violence has spread throughout the Gaza Strip, with reports of airstrikes in locations like Abasan in Jan Yunis, where three women and a child died, and in Rafah, where emergency services recovered the bodies of four people in the Tal al Sultan neighborhood. These regrettable events highlight the dire humanitarian situation in the region, with a growing number of civilian casualties and a healthcare infrastructure on the brink of collapse. In response to this critical situation, the Gaza Ministry of Health has issued an urgent appeal to the international community for electric generators to keep the healthcare system functioning. Fuel shortages and constant attacks on the power infrastructure have left several hospitals on the verge of collapse, putting the lives of patients who depend on electricity for medical care at risk. In this context of desperation and suffering, it is imperative that the international community acts decisively to stop the escalation of violence in Gaza and ensure access to humanitarian aid for the civilian population affected by the conflict. The lives of thousands of innocent people are at stake, and it is everyone's responsibility to work towards a peaceful and lasting solution that ends the bloodshed in the region.
