The Municipal Health Secretariat has launched a new edition of the "Health in Your Neighborhood" program, a significant effort to bring health services closer to the population and promote well-being in communities. Between January 27 and 31, residents of Plaza España and Bosque Peralta Ramos will have the opportunity to access a variety of health screenings and preventive services designed to meet specific needs. The first service point of the program will be set up at the Bosque Peralta Ramos Promotion Association, where multiple health activities will take place. Starting Monday, residents will be able to benefit from HIV and syphilis testing, as well as vaccinations according to the national schedule, including the flu vaccine and the Covid-19 vaccine. These actions are a key step in the fight against diseases that, if not addressed, can have serious consequences for public health. The program not only focuses on adult health but also includes pediatric services, essential for the care of younger children. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, screenings for children will be conducted, along with the opportunity to complete health records. For these services, it is necessary to request appointments in advance, ensuring a well-organized and efficient care process. As part of this initiative, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays will be dedicated to dental check-ups, with special attention for the youngest. These pediatric dentistry workshops aim to educate and raise awareness about the importance of oral care from childhood, a fundamental aspect of preventing future health issues. Mental health will also be a priority during these days. On Thursday, counseling and guidance will be provided in this area, addressing a growing need in today’s society. Additionally, rabies vaccinations for pets will be administered, contributing to the well-being of animals and, consequently, their owners and the community. In an effort to control the animal population and promote responsible pet ownership, spaying and neutering services will be offered for pets. Interested individuals must bring their animal to the site before 8 a.m., noting that only one animal per person will be allowed to ensure a smooth and organized process. The second service point will be located in Plaza España, where many of the aforementioned services will be replicated, thus expanding the program's reach to more residents. In addition to testing and vaccinations, informational talks on CPR, first aid, responsible pet ownership, and dengue will be held, topics of great relevance today. One of the innovations in this cycle of "Health in Your Neighborhood" is the incorporation of a mobile dental clinic that will operate at both locations. This clinic will provide comprehensive dental care, from oral check-ups to early detection of oral cancer, ensuring that residents of the most vulnerable areas have access to quality dental care. Workshops on the prevention and management of non-communicable chronic diseases, as well as healthy eating, will take place at the third service point of the program, which will also be present in Bosque Peralta Ramos. These activities are part of a broader strategy to educate the community about healthy habits and the importance of prevention. Finally, the "Health in Your Neighborhood" program represents a fundamental initiative to strengthen the local health system by bringing essential services to those who need them most. Community participation is key, and residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to care for their health and that of their families. With a wide range of services and activities on offer, this program stands as a milestone in promoting health in the region, reaffirming the municipality's commitment to the well-being of its citizens.
