From Monday, January 13 to Friday, January 17, the "Health in Your Neighborhood" program will take center stage in Las Heras and at the Plaza Canchita de los Bomberos, offering a series of services aimed at improving community health. This initiative by the municipality's Health Secretariat seeks to provide residents with various medical check-ups and promotional and preventive talks, ensuring access to health for all. At the Las Heras Sports Center, located at Fortunato de la Plaza 8438, the first facility will offer a wide range of services from 9 AM to 2 PM. During this week, residents will be able to get tested for HIV and syphilis, as well as receive routine vaccinations, flu shots, and COVID vaccines. Additionally, appointments will be scheduled for various specialties at the Primary Health Care Centers (CAPS), and informative talks about dengue will be held, a relevant topic given the recent concerns about this disease in the region. Dental check-ups will also be available at this location, with specific attention for children through pediatric dentistry workshops scheduled for Thursday and Friday. In an effort to address mental health, the program will offer counseling and guidance, as well as rabies vaccinations for animals, which is an important aspect of public health and pet welfare. In another part of the city, the second facility will be set up at the Plaza Canchita de los Bomberos, at Florisbelo Acosta 3091, also from 9 AM to 2 PM. Similar to Las Heras, HIV and syphilis testing will be conducted, along with vaccinations. This space will focus on providing talks about CPR and first aid, as well as promoting responsible pet ownership and dengue prevention. Citizens are invited to participate in the scheduled dental check-ups on Monday and Tuesday, while pediatric dentistry workshops will be offered on Wednesday. Additionally, Friday will be dedicated to rabies vaccinations for animals, aimed at promoting the health of both people and their pets. The third facility of the "Health in Your Neighborhood" program will be present at the Las Heras Sports Center on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from 10 AM to 2 PM. This space will provide an opportunity for residents to participate in a workshop on the prevention and management of non-communicable chronic diseases, as well as a survey on risk factors to better understand the community's needs. Healthy eating will also be a highlighted aspect, with talks and nutritional counseling offered on Wednesday. Recommendations on food preparation will be provided, and blood pressure checks will be conducted, underscoring the importance of prevention and health care through healthy lifestyle habits. It is important to note that the mobile dental clinic will be operational at the Plaza Canchita de los Bomberos on Monday, January 13, and Tuesday, January 14, and will then move to the Las Heras Sports Center from Wednesday, January 15, to Friday, January 17. Services will be provided without prior appointments, facilitating access for the community. This mobile clinic will offer dental care for everyone, covering everything from oral check-ups for pregnant women to early detection of oral cancer. The initiative also includes recommendations for preventing injuries to soft tissues and advice on comprehensive oral care and hygiene. The implementation of these health facilities in different parts of the city is a clear example of the municipality's commitment to ensuring that health services reach all corners of the community, promoting a comprehensive approach that involves both people and their pets. Accessibility and prevention are the foundational pillars of this important initiative, which seeks to improve the quality of life for the residents of the area.
