"Don't do it, and if you do, you will receive a fine; this is not a traditional matter. The second hypothesis being considered is the possibility that the flames are caused by "heartless, criminal individuals" seeking to create chaos in the city. Muñoz did not rule out the possibility that there might be political interests behind these acts, suggesting that some may want to damage the image of the municipal administration or the city's Fire Department. "I will go to the ends of the earth," the mayor asserted, revealing his determination to find those responsible and clarify the motives behind these fires. One of the most notable incidents occurred on September 7 at the old El Chiche bridge when a fire broke out along the roadside. Muñoz pointed out that the location of the fire suggests that someone on a motorcycle or in a vehicle may have intentionally caused it, increasing the urgency of the investigation. "Why are they burning right along the sidewalk?" he questioned, implying that there is an element of disregard for the safety of the community. The effects of these fires have been devastating. Although precise figures on the amount of affected vegetation are not yet available, Muñoz reported that at least 20 head of cattle and one poultry facility have perished, in addition to strawberry crops completely consumed by the flames.
