On August 25th, Mexico City became the epicenter of passion and perseverance by hosting the 41st edition of its iconic Marathon. With the participation of 30,000 runners, the event was a celebration of human effort, where each athlete not only competed against the clock but also against their own limits. From the first light of day, the atmosphere was filled with a palpable mix of nerves and hope as runners lined up at the Ciudad Universitaria Stadium, ready to embark on a journey that would transform their lives. The Mexico City Marathon is not just a race; it is a deeply emotional experience that impacts everyone involved. For many, it becomes a lifestyle, a ritual that transcends the physical and becomes a moving meditation. Each stride is a release of endorphins, a celebration of life, and above all, a commitment to oneself. Although each runner experienced their own "marathon project," they all shared a collective dream: to cross that finish line together, as one big family united by the same passion. This year, an innovative initiative joined the marathon celebration, focusing on highlighting the greatness of the Mexican event. Despite the challenging elevation of the course, the marathon deserves to be treated with respect, admiration, and, above all, with a spirit of overcoming. The call attracted hundreds of aspirants eager to achieve the ambitious goal of finishing the race in less than three hours, a challenge that historically has only been accomplished by 1% of participants. From those hundreds of enthusiasts, 60 were selected to participate in this unique experience. Men and women from various cities across the country arrived with different life stories but united by the same purpose: to support each other every kilometer of the way. This project not only aims to inspire others to join the running community but also to ignite a spark in their hearts, inviting them to experience "running" as a transformative journey. Despite some dropouts in the weeks leading up to the event, 53 runners took to the streets of CDMX with bright smiles and hearts full of positive energy. As they progressed, sweat and fatigue became increasingly present, but unconditional support among them never wavered. Phrases like "how are you?" echoed in the toughest stretches, and the cheers from the crowd filled the air with love and encouragement, turning each step into an act of solidarity. Among the participants in this initiative, 12 runners achieved the goal of crossing the finish line in under three hours. However, what was truly significant was witnessing how each of them gave their all until the very last moment. The real triumph lay not only in the times but in the collective effort and the will to overcome that was felt throughout the day. Days after the marathon, the atmosphere remains infused with excitement. Not only have new marathoners emerged, but dreams and projects inspired by this shared experience have also been renewed. "Running" reveals itself as an inclusive space, where everyone can find community support and motivation to reach their goals, no matter how ambitious they may be. The CDMX Marathon, considered by many to be the most beautiful in the world, marks the beginning of a new stage filled with exciting challenges and infinite opportunities for those who love the sport. The running community strengthens and grows, creating bonds that transcend the asphalt and become lasting friendships. With every step, we move toward new horizons, remembering that every story matters. This journey has just begun, and the possibilities are as vast as Mexico City itself. The upcoming marathon is already in the air, and the invitation is open: let’s keep running together, because every step counts and every heart has a story to tell.
