The Secretariat of Civil Protection of the state of Veracruz has issued an important notice for the population, anticipating the arrival of heavy rains in the next 24 hours. This meteorological phenomenon will mainly affect the northern and southern regions of the state, and it is expected that maximum temperatures will drop as a consequence of the imminent weather. The Subdirectorate of Meteorological Studies and Forecasts has indicated that this situation results from the interaction of several atmospheric systems, including a trough system located in the western Gulf of Mexico. The forecast indicates that the probability of river flooding will increase, which could lead to flooding in low-lying and urban areas. In light of this forecast, authorities have advised residents of the affected areas to take appropriate precautions to avoid inconveniences. It is essential for the population to stay alert for updates and follow the instructions of Civil Protection to ensure their safety. In the northern region of the state, the sky is mostly cloudy, with a high probability of rain and occasional storms. As the hours progress, these conditions are expected to intensify, which could lead to a significant rise in the levels of rivers and streams in the region. Meanwhile, in the mountainous area of central Veracruz, the weather is partly cloudy, but rain and isolated storms are also expected, particularly in the afternoon and evening. According to meteorological estimates, the coast and plains of central Veracruz will also experience mostly cloudy to partly cloudy skies, indicating an increase in the probability of rain during the morning. This pattern of humid weather will persist throughout the day, with isolated storms anticipated for the night and early morning of the following day. On the other hand, the southern region of Veracruz presents a similar outlook, with partly cloudy skies giving way to rain and isolated storms as the afternoon progresses. The intensity of these rains could increase during the night, posing an additional risk to the population in flood-prone areas. Regarding temperatures, a slight decrease is expected in most Veracruz municipalities. For today, it is anticipated that the city of Xalapa will register temperatures ranging from 26 to 28 degrees Celsius. However, other localities, such as Pánuco and Tantoyuca, could reach higher temperatures, varying between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, municipalities like Huayacocotla will have cooler temperatures, ranging from 21 to 24 degrees Celsius. On the coast, places like Veracruz port and Cotaxtla could experience values of up to 34 degrees Celsius, adding a level of complexity to managing the current weather situation. It is important to highlight that the Civil Protection report also warns of the possibility of northerly winds, which could reach strong gusts. This combination of rain, variable temperatures, and intense winds could create dangerous conditions, especially in areas vulnerable to landslides and flash floods. The people of Veracruz must stay informed through official communication channels and follow the recommendations issued by the authorities to protect their well-being. The cooperation of everyone is essential to overcome the challenges presented by this unusual weather and ensure the safety of the community. Thus, it is expected that, during the weekend, rain and storm activity will intensify, requiring constant attention and preventive measures from all citizens.
