In a context where Peru has achieved significant economic growth in recent decades, it is urgent to reflect on the discrepancy between worrying about and addressing the problems we face. The question posed by that admired former leader serves as a framework for a broader conversation about our priorities and the way we respond to the country's challenges. Currently, poverty and inequality present persistent obstacles that require immediate attention and effective measures. The reality is that worrying without taking concrete actions only leads to inaction. Instead of allowing our concerns to paralyze us, it is essential to take a step forward and address them. This proactive attitude not only empowers us as individuals but also enables our communities, and ultimately the entire country, to move toward a more promising future. Individual commitment must translate into collective action, where each of us takes on a role in solving the problems that affect us. For this change in mindset to materialize, it is essential that the public sector, private sector, and civil society work together. Clearly identifying the problems that require urgent attention is the first step toward implementing effective policies. Investing in critical areas such as education, health, and social inclusion is not just a moral duty, but a strategic necessity to close the gaps that still persist in Peru's development. At Aporta, we have taken the initiative to address these issues. Our focus on understanding and improving the quality of life of Breca's employees and their families centers on key areas such as education, health, economy, and housing. This work aims not only to alleviate current conditions but also to generate long-term impact that contributes to the comprehensive development of communities. The analysis of existing gaps has allowed us to design and implement specific interventions that address these vulnerabilities. Thanks to these actions, we have managed to reduce vulnerability gaps by more than 5 percentage points, demonstrating that addressing problems can lead to tangible and significant results. These types of initiatives exemplify that commitment and action are more effective than mere concern. However, there is still much to be done. The task of addressing and not just worrying must be a continuous and shared effort. Every advance, no matter how small, represents a step toward more sustainable and equitable development. I reiterate that we must stop being mere spectators of our reality and become active participants in seeking solutions to the great challenges facing our personal and national environment. It is imperative that we all take responsibility for acting. Circumstances will not change on their own; it is up to us to take the initiative and tackle the problems that require urgent attention. Worrying may be the first step toward change, but taking action is what truly transforms realities. The path toward a fairer and more prosperous Peru is filled with challenges, but also with opportunities. By joining together in this effort, we can build a culture of responsibility and action that not only benefits a few but generates a positive impact across society. Finally, the invitation is clear: let us take action, be active participants in this transformation process, and work together for a better future for all.
