Residents of Teignmouth can look forward to a significant improvement in their banking services with the establishment of a new permanent cash banking hub later this year. This initiative aims to enhance access to cash transactions in the south Devon town, reflecting a growing commitment to financial inclusivity in communities that have faced challenges due to the decline of traditional banking services. The new hub will allow customers from nine high street banks to conduct cash transactions five days a week, from 09:00 to 17:00 on weekdays. This move is particularly important for residents, especially those who rely heavily on cash for their day-to-day transactions, including local businesses and the elderly population who may not be comfortable with digital banking alternatives. Teignmouth will join three other locations in Devon to host such a banking hub, which will be operated by the Post Office on behalf of Cash Access UK, a not-for-profit company dedicated to ensuring communities have reliable access to cash.
