The 30-year-old's journey in athletics began with Great Britain but later transitioned to represent Northern Ireland, where he made headlines with a bronze medal in the 200 meters at the 2018 Commonwealth Games—the first for the region in nearly three decades. His career continued to flourish, culminating in a semi-final appearance at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. However, Reid's triumphs were not without challenges, as he dealt with the personal struggles of his upbringing and a significant legal issue that arose during his athletic career. Reid emphasizes that many footballers often neglect the athletic aspects of their training, viewing themselves primarily as players rather than athletes.
