The Operational Coordination Center (CECOP) has announced this afternoon the authorization for the residents of El Pueyo de Araguás, who were evacuated due to a forest fire that started on Wednesday, to return to their homes. Despite the fire still being active, it has been reported to be evolving favorably and has consumed around 150 hectares of land. The efforts of the deployed teams are focused on containing the fire, which is in the process of stabilization. The Operational Situation 1-Level 1 of the Special Civil Protection Plan for Emergency Forest Fires (PROCINFO) has been deactivated by CECOP, indicating a step towards the normalization of the emergency. The Minister of Finance, Interior, and Public Administration of the Government of Aragon, Roberto Bermúdez de Castro, the Director General of Interior and Emergencies, Miguel Ángel Clavero, and the Director General of Forest Management, Ana Oliván, led the meeting where the decision to allow the evacuees to return home was made. Despite this authorization, emergency teams will continue to work with the same intensity, as the fire is still active. The flames originated in a cereal field in El Pueyo de Araguás as a result of the action of a combine harvester. Three population centers were evacuated preventively: Torrelisa, with 12 people; Araguás, with 20; and San Lorién, with 5. The evacuees were relocated to safe places such as the regional residence, a hotel, and a sports pavilion in Aínsa. Civil Protection coordinated a convoy for the evacuees to return home escorted by the Civil Guard and Civil Protection volunteers to collect belongings. In the extinguishing operation, 6 ground brigades, 3 fire engines, 1 bulldozer, Agents for Nature Protection, technicians, and the Advanced Command Post (PMA) of Civil Protection are participating, as well as resources from the Provincial Council of Huesca. Regarding aerial resources, there are 4 helicopters and 4 helitransported brigades from INFOAR in action, as well as 4 seaplanes and 2 helicopters from the BRIF of Daroca, and a firefighting helicopter from the Government of Spain. Volunteers from the Civil Protection Volunteer Group of Sobrarbe, Red Cross, social workers from the Sobrarbe Region, and the Civil Guard are also collaborating in the extinguishing tasks. The restoration of the electrical supply of the La Fueva medium voltage line, interrupted by the fire, has been requested to ensure electricity in the area. Despite the concentrated efforts on the left flank of the fire, which presents access difficulties due to the terrain's topography, the same intensity in extinguishing operations is expected to be maintained for the following day due to the fire's persistence.
