In a joint effort to promote development and improve living conditions in the country, the National Confederation of Private Business Institutions (Confiep), in collaboration with its 23 associated business guilds and regional chambers of commerce, has presented the government with over 80 proposals in 16 key sectors. These proposals range from closing gaps and increasing competitiveness to generating formal employment and political reform. Alfonso Bustamante, president of Confiep, highlighted the private sector's willingness to contribute to the development of public policies that benefit the general population. In his statements, Bustamante emphasized the importance of working together to achieve a country with adequate infrastructure, prosperous and secure citizens, dignified jobs, a strengthened middle class, sustainable investments, and efficient and quality public services. Among the proposals presented is the modernization of the State, where it is suggested to reorganize and declare a state of emergency for Corpac, proposing the possibility of granting the management of air navigation services to private companies with proven experience. This approach aims to improve the efficiency and quality of public services, as well as optimize resource management. In the housing sector, it is proposed to increase funds allocated to social housing and expand the housing supply to close the housing deficit gap. This would ensure the sustainability of housing subsidies, such as the Family Housing Bonus (BFH) and the Good Payer Bonus (BBP), promoting access to decent housing for more Peruvian families. In political reform, it is proposed to ensure the suitability of electoral candidates and closely monitor political campaign financing, as well as regulate private financing of political parties. These measures aim to strengthen transparency and legitimacy in the political system, generating greater trust among citizens and ensuring fair and equitable elections. In the foreign trade and tourism sector, the concession of the Third Group of regional airports is proposed to boost efficiency, connectivity, and decentralized development, as well as the recovery of tourism in various regions of the country. This measure aims to stimulate the local economy and promote job creation in the tourism sector. In summary, the proposals presented by Confiep and regional chambers of commerce cover a wide range of fundamental areas for the country's development. From the modernization of the State and political reform to the promotion of foreign trade, agriculture, mining, and citizen security, these initiatives seek to lay the groundwork for sustainable and equitable growth in Peru.
