A community hub in Cornwall is set to receive a significant financial boost, thanks to funding totaling over £120,000. The St Tudy Playing Field Trust, located in Bodmin, has been selected as the recipient of £120,648 from the Levelling Up Fund, a government initiative aimed at supporting projects that drive growth and regeneration in local areas. In addition to this grant, the trust's trustees have successfully secured an additional £100,000 from the Cornwall Council's community infrastructure levy fund. This combined funding will be instrumental in the construction of a new building that will serve as a central hub for the community. Louis Gardner, the Cornwall Council portfolio holder for economy, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting the positive impact the new hub will have on the local residents. Gardner emphasized that the facility will play a crucial role in bringing people of all ages together, providing a space where they can access educational resources, engage in leisure activities, participate in sports, and prioritize their health and well-being. The establishment of this community hub signifies a significant investment in the social infrastructure of Bodmin and the surrounding areas. By creating a space that fosters community engagement and promotes various aspects of individual and collective well-being, the project is poised to enhance the quality of life for residents and strengthen the sense of unity within the community. As construction commences on the new building, anticipation is high among locals who eagerly await the opportunities and benefits that the community hub will bring. The successful funding allocation reflects a commitment to supporting grassroots initiatives that aim to enrich the lives of those they serve, embodying the spirit of collaboration and community empowerment.
