The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are just around the corner, and the companies YouTube and Claro Sports have renewed their agreement to bring the excitement and adrenaline of all the competitions to viewers in Latin America. The alliance between these two companies aims not only to deploy cutting-edge technology but also to pay tribute to sports, according to Joe Aboumrad, director of Claro Sports. Following the successful model implemented during the Tokyo Olympic Games, where both companies collaborated closely, Claro Sports plans to deploy production teams not only in Paris, the main host city of the games, but also in various countries in the Latin American region. This initiative seeks to ensure comprehensive and quality coverage for sports fans in the region. Joe Aboumrad revealed that a terrace with a privileged view of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe will be set up, from where special broadcasts will be made. Additionally, two teams of reporters equipped with Live View technology and cameramen will be deployed to cover all Olympic disciplines that will take place in the 41 competition venues in Paris, with broadcasts reaching 17 countries. During the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Claro Sports achieved impressive figures on its YouTube channel, with 600 million views and 120 million hours of content watched, posing a challenge for both companies leading up to Paris 2024. In light of this scenario, Aboumrad emphasized the importance of betting on significant growth through Smart TV broadcasts, a trend that is constantly growing in the region. Television remains one of the preferred media for viewers to follow the Olympic Games, so the YouTube platform has prepared special updates for this event. One of the novelties is the Multiview feature, which will allow viewers to follow up to four simultaneous events from the Claro Sports channel, giving users the option to choose which competition they want to watch at any given moment. For those unable to watch the competitions live, more than 2,000 highlighted clips of around 10 minutes each will be produced and made available on demand. Likewise, users will be able to check details of the medal table and the competition schedule by day and local time through the platform's search engine, thanks to the collaboration between Google and América Móvil. In an effort to make the Olympic Games experience accessible to everyone, Telcel will launch a new prepaid plan with unlimited data for a limited time, allowing users to enjoy Claro Sports broadcasts without worrying about data consumption. This special top-up plan for only 15 pesos will provide unlimited access to the exciting coverage of the Olympic Games. The diversity of audiences in countries like Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico has been taken into account in this collaboration, as detailed analyses have been conducted to identify the most followed sports in each region. From gymnastics with representatives like Alexa Moreno in Mexico, to cycling with figures like Egan Bernal in Colombia, the aim is to ensure that each country finds and supports its athletes in this global sports celebration. In conclusion, the renewal of the agreement between YouTube and Claro Sports, along with Telcel's initiative to offer a prepaid plan with unlimited data, promises to bring Latin American viewers closer to the magic of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. This collaboration not only represents a technological advancement in the broadcasting of sports events, but also a commitment to promote and celebrate the greatness of sports in the region. Let the games begin!
