During a recent visit to Tula, the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, announced the transfer of 4.3 million pesos to Hidalgo to address mental health and addiction issues as part of the development actions in the region. During his tour of federal projects in the area, the president highlighted the economic transformation that is taking place, including the creation of a development hub on lands that were originally intended for a refinery. In a protocol event in Teocalco, Tlaxcoapan, where the Tula Zone Hospital is being built, López Obrador emphasized the boost that this infrastructure and development project represent for the region. He pointed out that, despite the adversities, efforts are being made to revitalize an economically neglected area. The president also mentioned the failed construction of the coker unit in Tula, which was halted due to alleged corruption actions. He explained that various irregularities were found in projects that had been abandoned, resulting in a significant loss of public resources. However, he stressed the importance of correcting these mistakes and prioritizing investment for the benefit of the population. Regarding the recent floods in Tula and other municipalities in the Valle del Mezquital, López Obrador informed about the measures being taken to prevent future natural disasters. The investment of 1.2 billion pesos in building levees to protect the river and prevent new floods was highlighted, as well as the allocation of resources for the construction of a new hospital in the area, with a budget of 2.5 billion pesos. On her part, the president-elect Claudia Sheinbaum highlighted the achievements in energy matters during the current administration, emphasizing the recovery of the Miguel Hidalgo refinery and the importance of the coker unit for the rehabilitation of Petróleos Mexicanos. Both projects are part of a comprehensive strategy to strengthen the oil industry and promote economic development in the region. In conclusion, President López Obrador's visit to Tula has not only served to announce significant investments in mental health and addiction, but also to highlight the progress in infrastructure and economic development that is taking place in the region.
