The Canadian company Hannan Metals has announced an exciting discovery at its Valiente project, located in the Huánuco region. It involves an outcropping porphyry-type copper and gold mineralization in a significant area of 10 km by 5 km that extends from Central Previsto to East Previsto. This discovery has revealed extensive copper and gold anomalies in the soil, and most surprisingly, only 20% of the area has been explored so far, suggesting a truly significant growth potential. Michael Hudson, CEO of Hannan Metals, has emphasized the magnitude of this discovery, mentioning that the continuous expansion of the discovery area in Central Previsto reinforces the idea that they may have found the largest copper and gold porphyry system in Valiente. Despite having explored only a small part of the target area, the company is confident that the scale of this system will continue to grow as they progress in their research and fieldwork. Currently, a team of six geologists from Hannan, supported by two technicians and a group of local residents, is working diligently on the project. With 20% of the target covered, the company is progressing towards obtaining the necessary permits to carry out drilling in the area. Additionally, the planning of a large-scale geophysical survey and a LiDAR study has been announced to explore the depth and scale of the mineral system in three dimensions. During the dry season in Valiente, the main focus of fieldwork is on soil mapping and sampling. The collected samples have yielded promising results, with gold concentrations exceeding 0.1 grams per ton and significant levels of copper presence. The gold anomaly has experienced a notable increase in size in the last month, now exceeding 2 km by 4 km, highlighting the importance and extent of this discovery. According to Hannan Metals, copper-rich outcrops, characterized by the presence of azurite, a copper oxide mineral, have produced outstanding results in laboratory tests, with channel samples up to 192 meters in length. The company has also observed that the alteration present in the area suggests the existence of a porphyry mineral system, with a predominance of minerals such as pyrite over chalcopyrite, supporting the theory that the rock outcrops represent the upper parts of this system. Furthermore, the new discovery aligns with a large airborne magnetic and radiometric potassium anomaly of 10 km by 5 km, adding more evidence to the importance and extent of this deposit. With each new revelation and advancement in research, the growth and development potential of this mining project in Huánuco becomes even more promising, opening up new opportunities in the sector and generating positive expectations in the national and international mining industry.
