This Tuesday, the state of Veracruz will experience a warm environment during midday and the early afternoon, conditions that will be accompanied by the likelihood of rain and isolated thunderstorms. According to the report from the Civil Protection Secretariat, the southern region of the state will be the most affected by the high temperatures, while winds from the north, northeast, and east will remain at speeds between 20 and 35 km/h, with significant gusts in storm areas. In light of the possibility of adverse weather conditions, Civil Protection authorities have issued precautionary recommendations for the public. There is a warning about the risk of landslides, collapses, and mudslides, as well as flooding and water accumulation in urban centers. Additionally, residents should remain vigilant regarding the rise of rivers and streams, always following the guidance of local authorities. In the northern region, which spans from the Pánuco basins to Colipa, a partly cloudy morning is expected, with increasing cloudiness throughout the day and rain arriving in the afternoon. Rainfall accumulations are estimated between 5 and 20 mm, although higher totals are anticipated in some areas. Northeastern and eastern winds are forecast, with gusts that could intensify during storms. Despite the inclement weather, temperatures are expected to reach highs between 34 and 36°C in the Huasteca region. The mountainous regions in the center of the state will also face a day with clear to partly cloudy skies. However, the probability of rain and isolated thunderstorms is expected to increase towards the afternoon and night. Temperatures in this area will reach maximum values of 26 to 28°C, while minimums will range from 14 to 17°C. Additionally, fog is anticipated to develop in the afternoon and night, which could reduce visibility in some areas. On the central coast and plains, the day will start clear, but cloudiness and the possibility of nighttime rain will increase as the day progresses. Wind conditions will follow the pattern of other regions, blowing from the north and northeast at speeds of 20 to 35 km/h. Maximum temperatures will range between 33 and 35°C in the plains and between 32 and 34°C on the coast, with minimums between 22 and 25°C. On the other hand, the southern region of Veracruz, which includes the basins of Papaloapan, Coatzacoalcos, and Tonalá, presents a somewhat more complicated scenario. This area will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a higher probability of rain and isolated thunderstorms. Rainfall accumulations could be significant, with estimates ranging from 5 to 20 mm, and in some sectors, even up to 50 mm. The formation of evening and nighttime fog is also expected. It is important for the population in these areas to stay informed about weather alerts and to be prepared for any eventuality. The combination of intense heat and sudden rain can create dangerous conditions, so constant monitoring of Civil Protection recommendations is essential. Forecast models for the next seven days indicate that the average temperature will remain at or above the long-term average, with accumulated rainfall generally expected to be lower or equal to normal, but potentially higher in certain areas of the southern state. This could create a risky situation in communities already vulnerable to flooding. Authorities continue to work to provide updated and relevant information to the public, urging all Veracruz residents to take necessary precautions in light of the changing weather. Collaboration and individual responsibility are key to facing the challenges presented during this time of year, when the weather can be both an ally and an adversary. Finally, it is reminded that the best approach to adverse weather situations is prevention and preparedness. Staying informed and following the recommendations of authorities are crucial steps to ensure personal and community safety.
